The 22nd Rangers are a freelance mercenary group based out of the Hilo System. Consistently employed by Hyperdyne Systems to protect their territories and assets, the 22nd has become a name synonymous with fear. Known for their brutal displays of firepower and violence, the 22nd Rangers are respected as one of the leading mercenary groups in the system. Simply put, if you want it destroyed, send the 22nd. If you want it protected, send in the 22nd.
Pissing these guys off is the last thing you want to do...
4 Years ago, the Weyland-Yutani corporation attempted to "buy out" the 22nd Rangers and have them betray Hyperdyne Systems interests. Not wanting the reputation that comes with being a double-crossing agent, the Rangers unanimously declined any interest in working with Weyland.
Needless to say, Weyland-Yutani was not pleased. Since their defiance, Weyland-Yutani has used its influence with the ICC to direct problems in the direction of the 22nd Rangers. Often finding themselves at odds with ICC Marines, the 22nd has come close to being shut down altogether. With no love for "The Company" or the ICC, the Rangers have vowed to never work alongside Weyland and openly defies the ICC at every turn.
This has led to great conflicts in space as well as on the ground between ICC Marines and 22nd Rangers. Both parties being skilled warriors, casualties have been heavy on both sides in confrontations
This has bred a deep hatred for the ICC among many of the 22nd Rangers. Most have vows to take no ICC Prisoners and actively keep track of their kills.
Hydra 3
The 22nd Rangers have been tasked with holding Hydra 3 against any force including the ICC. When an ICC Marine mothership hit orbit, the 22nd Rangers dug in for a fight.
Now they are preparing for the inevitable assault...
